About us
Locally Owned, Community-Focused
A family-owned septic company in Somis, proud to serve our neighbors across Ventura County and the Conejo Valley.
About Us
Dependable, honest, high-quality septic service is what our customers have trusted us for across Ventura County.
In January 2014, Sebastian Czaplicki became the owner of Advanced Sanitation and merged it with Thomas Pumping to expand what the company could do for the community. His path started years earlier with hands-on work in the septic industry, often while holding down other jobs. Through hard work he turned a part-time opportunity into a full-time career and, eventually, the company itself.
Today we are still focused on efficient, dependable service and on transparency in how we communicate, price and operate. We keep investing in better processes, modern equipment and a team dedicated to getting the job done right. We are licensed by the Contractors State License Board (license #1014079, C42) and are members of the Ventura County Contractors Association.
Our Mission
To provide high-quality service with professionalism, integrity and commitment, while protecting the environment, building trusted relationships with our clients and laying a strong foundation for the future.
Our Vision
To be the leading company in our industry, known for an expert team, lasting customer relationships and steady growth that supports our team, our clients and our community.
Our story
From a part-time job to the blue trucks
How a teenager from Poland became the owner of the company behind the blue trucks, as told in Pumper Magazine's September 2026 profile.
-
2001
From Poland to California
Sebastian Czaplicki came to the United States from Poland at 17 with a suitcase of clothes and a work ethic learned on his family's dairy farm, where he had helped out since he was five.
-
2011
Behind the wheel
He earned his commercial driver license and drove freight while working part-time jobs on the side, one of them with a friend who ran a septic installation business.
-
2013
Hired as a driver at Advanced Sanitation
The couple who owned Advanced Sanitation were getting ready to retire. Sebastian joined them as a truck driver and learned the pumping side of the trade from the cab.
-
January 2014
New owner, same blue trucks
Sebastian bought the company and merged it with Thomas Pumping. He started with two older vacuum trucks, a tractor and tank trailer and one other driver, working from about 3 a.m. to 6 p.m. and doing the paperwork himself.
-
2016
Licensed to install
Advanced Sanitation became a licensed septic installer (Contractors State License Board license #1014079, C42), adding new systems, seepage pits and repairs to the pumping work.
-
2022 to 2023
A crew, not a one-man show
By 2022 there were two pumper crews and two installers on staff, and a dispatcher joined in 2023 so every call gets the same set of questions and a written estimate before the truck rolls.
-
Today
A dozen people and three blue trucks
Three vacuum trucks, a tractor and tank trailer for the long haul to the treatment plant, excavators and a hydraulic drill rig. The team pumps about 1,500 septic tanks and seepage pits a year and installs or repairs about 50 systems.
-
September 2026
On the cover of Pumper Magazine
Pumper, the magazine of the liquid waste industry, put Sebastian and the Advanced Sanitation crew on its cover and told the whole story in a six-page profile.
